On Sunday 25th July 2010 a party of foreign cadets and escorting officers will arrive in East Lancashire Wing as part of their tour of the North Region before departing to RAF Cranwell on Wednesday 28th July. For their stay in East Lancashire Wing it is planned to ask the families of cadets and staff (including Civilian Committee members) to provide accommodation for the three nights, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.
The visiting cadets will be aged between 17 and 20. For many it will be their first time in the UK and the opportunity to meet and stay with a family will be one they will remember as a highlight of their visit.
East Lancashire Wing has a tradition of hosting our visitors with families whenever possible and this is something we would like to continue this year. There will be two other parties of visiting cadets being hosted in other areas of the country but we are the only Wing that is planning to host with families. As we only get to do this once every 5 or 6 years it means that we do not have a ready-made supply of accommodation and have to make a fresh appeal each time.
