Wing Training Day 2010

Congratulations go to 1855 (Royton) Squadron for coming first overall at this years Wing training day. Producing impressive results in drill, shooting, general cadet training and first aid, Royton tiptoed away with a 3 point lead. Also in the top section were 1263 (Rochdale) gaining second place on 96 points, and 1036 (Bury) coming third with 95 points. Introduced for the first time this year was the flight sim competition which pitched teams from all squadrons against each other. Tasked to fly a 15 route from RAF Valley to Caernarfon cadets had to plan their journey, maintain speed, headings and altitude to gain points. Due to the success of this competition it will now feature as part of next years overall points.

Also presented, were the Clasp to the Cadet Forces Medal to Flt Lt S Morrell of 1099 (Worlsey) Squadron and WO(ATC) Cooper of 247 (Ashton) Squadron for 18 years service, and the Cadet Forces Medal to Flt Lt Mehta of 723 (Wigan) Squadron.
