‘Inspirational’ cadet receives a top flight award

There’s a special salute for Bury Air Training Corps Cadet Jordan Wild.

For the 17-year-old flight sergeant with the 1036 Squadron, based at the Castle Armoury, has been appointed a Lord Lieutenant’s Cadet for Greater Manchester for 2010-11.

He received his certificate of appointment and special gold embroidered badge of office at a presentation in Wigan from Greater Manchester’s Lord Lieutenant, Colonel Warren Smith.

Jordan’s selection means that he is considered the top Air Training Corps cadet for the county of Greater Manchester.

Colonel Gerry Wells-Cole said the teenager was a key staff member. He said: “Jordan is a dedicated and hard working cadet who gives of his best and inspires those around him.”
